ISG is selected by UNIDO to support its programs in Iraq as well as the Government of Iraq’s (GoI) strategy for economic development, in its efforts focusing on the reintegration and social-economic recovery of IDPs.

During 2009 and 2010, ISG will implement a vigorous training program using a sensitive, effective and efficient approaches honed over its years of work on a wide variety of projects in Jordan and Iraq. Specifically, ISG will conduct an in depth needs assessment and select and train 24 individuals in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in Jordan. ISG will offer a customized training package including a training skills and a health and safety component. In addition, ISG will also offer a technical training component in partnership with Entity Green. Participants will gain specific technical skills in subjects appropriate to various private sector opportunities in the Thiqar and al-Anbar Governorate including but not limited to marquetry, pipe fitting, welding and IT and electronics repair.
