This powerful document automation technology will initially aid in the processing of the data collected about Fiji’s 827,000-person population during the 2007 National Census. Coded census response forms are scanned and then processed by the software automatically transforming the handwritten data into an electronic database that is available for analysis and reporting.

Importantly, the software is very versatile and can be used in a variety of applications beyond the Census. The Bureau plans to utilize the software in its next major survey - the upcoming 2008 Household Income Survey.
